Everton Vs. QPR

Everton Toffees 3 -1 The Queen's Park Rangers

Ross Barclays', is he sponsored by the bank like when Baseball player Bobby Subway sold his name rights? brilliant 1st period zinger got the Toffees off to a 1 - Zip start with a great drive from the 20 yard line after starting the play within his own 50!
Kevin Meerkatas deflected field goal attempt made it 2 and Oh for the Toffees out of Everton before Steven Nay Smith, so his name is Smith then, made it a 3 possession lead in the bottom of the 1st heading Aaaaaaadun McGiddy's high lateral pass.
Bobbys' Amora finish from the low post after Tim, a player so good he's earned first name status ie LeBron, Kobe etc. deflected a pass into his direction but it came too late for QPR.

Everton Toffees have a 5-6-5 record on the season putting them 10th in the Premier Division of the English Conference leaping their parent team the Liver Pools putting them at mid level in the pennant race maybe they can squeeze in at a low seed in the race to face the winners of the Scottish Conference.

The Queen's Park Rangers slip to 18th which gives them a better percentage in getting a lottery pick in the draft, the best team in college ball this season is Born Mouth Cherries who sit atop the Championship Division.

A quick note about The Queen's Park Rangers as I feel it is unfair on them as a part time team, their main job in the week is being Rangers of the Queens Parks which gives them little time to train as a team giving the other teams an advantage though there are two teams tanking worse and both seem to be of French origin the Burn Le Clarets and Les Turd Foxes.

Man Utd Vs. Liverpool

Old Trafford - Manchester, Greater Manchester - Manchester Red Devils 3 - 0 Liver Pool

Pools cornerback Raheem Sterling I believe in his sophomore or junior year and rocking the 90s Will Smith, missed a host of chances so will Head Coach Rodgers bench him or maybe fire his offensive coordinator? Apparently the Devils Goalstop David De-Heya was in fine form.

Manchester broke the tie when Rooney swept home a cross-pitch pass to put the Devils up One-Zip during the 1st half of play then the Devils made it a two possession game as One Matter hit nothing but net with a Headshot but was apparently offside so why didn't Coach Rodgers throw a flag hang on all scoring plays are meant to be reviewed what is up with these officials?
Robin VanPercy hit a 3rd unanswered point for the Devils out of Manchester to give the Devils the Shut out win over fierce rivals Pool.

Manchester now have a record on the season of 9-4-3 putting their win ratio at just over .500, wow 4 games still tied at the end of OT. They sit in the 3rd spot of the Premier Division with Chel Sea still dominating the division and in top spot for the pennant race.
Liver Pool have another notch in the L column putting them at 6-3-7 and a mid-division team with little hopes of claiming the pennant, they shouldn't of traded Louis Suarez in pre-season, though they are far from a lottery team in my opinion.

Pre-Match Coach Rodgers benched Simon Mini-Ole who I believe shares his name with a mini wrestler from Lucha Libre, I believe he has been sent to their D-League team the Everton Toffees.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

 - Best 5 person team since the 2004 Detroit Pistons.

I'm a comic fan so going into Captain America: The Winter Soldier (http://nonwrestling.blogspot.com/2014/04/captain-america-winter-soldier.html), Amazing SpiderMan 2(http://nonwrestling.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/amazing-spiderman-2.html) and X-Men: Days Of Future Past (http://nonwrestling.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/x-men-days-of-future-past.html) I knew what and who to expect but I went into this with a clean slate which was good for me as it meant I learned things as the film went on.

Due to the space setting it has a distinct different feel to other Marvel films which makes it stand out for me. The Guardians consist of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who is human, well half human as it turns out, Gamora (Zoe Saldana) who's a green lady who happens to be Thanos' adopted daughter, I say adopted he took her after killing her family, Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista) who intends to kill Gamora in  prison due to Ronan The Accuser killing his family until Quill talks him out of it saying she betrayed Ronan so he'll come for her, and Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Groot, a tree basically (voiced by Vin Diesel) who are the new Stockdon and Malone, Laurel and Hardy uh... you get my drift.

The first scene that I really liked, though that's not to say the preceding scenes were poor by any means, was the riot in the prison. Basically they have an orb though don't seem to know what it's for and plan to sell it for 4 billion units to a buyer through Gamora and split the profit. Rocket has a plan for them all to escape and tells the others what he needs - a prosthetic leg, a security band that the guards where and a quarnex battery which he claims will set the guards off so they must get that last, as we see Groot wander off and go get it thus starting the riot. The scene here was used in a traier it's where Rocket is shooting whilst on Groots back.

My favorite character was a toss up between Drax and Rocket. Drax because he is oblivious to sayings and also he wasn't one of them characters who's angry for no reason and instead of being a kick-ass brute he actually gets his ass handed to him by Ronan, only to be saved by Groot, which made him more appealing to me plus he has my favorite line of the film -
Rocket Raccoon: [about Drax] Metaphors go over his head.
Drax : NOTHING goes over my head!... My reflexes are too fast, I would catch it.

Rocket does come across as no nonsense and well heartless is a bit strong but you know what I mean, however when he's drunk we find out that he hates the fact that he's been and this made me feel for the little guy -

Rocket: He thinks I'm some stupid thing! He does! [points to Drax] Well, I didn't ask to get made!
I didn't ask to be torn apart and put back together over and over and turned into some little monster!
[begins to cry].

Also towards the end as Groot sacrifices himself to save the others Rocket shows that he did like Groot really even if he put him down at times and is genuinely sad that he thinks he's lost Groot. He ends up carrying around a twig which in the last scene of the film becomes a mini Groot and dance to Jackson 5 'I Want You Back'.

The infinity stones are officially in the MCU now, or at least one of them is, and the Guardians have it in their possession. Thanos also shows up albeit briefly. Ronan The Accuser unfortunately isn't a great villain, he isn't as bad as Sandman, Venom from Spiderman 3 but he doesn't come close to Doc Ock levels of greatness either. Praise as well for Michael Rooker's Yondu who was my favorite of the supporting cast.

I enjoyed the characters, who I felt worked well together, and I liked the film as a whole, visually it was very impressive. Thanos appearance obviously links us to The Avengers and I hope that these two cast of characters can overlap at some point as maybe Avengers could get help Vs. Thanos or with the infinity rings at some point. By the way incase you're wondering the post credit scene introduces Howard The Duck, yeah Apocalypse it ain't.

Mortal Kombat II

'Get Over H....' no that's too obvious how about 'Ya,Ya,Ya,Ya' or whatever Liu shouts during Bicycle Kick.

Purchased a SNES this past weekend and bought Mortal Kombat II as well, as a fan of the series I had high hopes and I have enjoyed it so far. Firstly I love the look of it as it's an arcade port and I really like the old style and the characters look good to me, graphics these days are fantastic but I care more for gameplay than graphics.

The bad part is i'm pretty F'Ning awful at Mortal Kombat, not the newer ones for the PS2/360s etc but the old ones I am awful. I had to break a cardinal rule and put it on easy just to taste sweet victory, and even then I got absolutely slaughtered by Liu Kang when I fought him on the tower with that damn Bicycle Kick, Yarrgh!

This brings me to my next point the CPU uses a tactic which I despise, but have had to use on occasion, the 'Button Masher', I'm sure everyone's faced one at some point, if you haven't then you are one.

I'll be stood all innocent trying to remember Baraka's Balde Spark and Blade Shredder whilst the computer reels off about 10 punches on my noggin depleting my health bar, I cant block mid stream either. My tried and trusted tactic is the good old 'Stay In The Corner Projectile Attack' which works in general but then they just jump repeatedly however I am nothing if not prepared as I then use Blade Shredder when they get close, but against Liu Kang this tactic is moot as his Flying Kick sends him across the screen at me and his Bicycle Kick finishes me off, incidentally I used Bicycle Kick on Reptile just to recreate the movie scene.

After finally reeling off the victories needed, partly thanks to the Kredits you have, I got to the mini-boss Kintaro, he's a four armed tiger man thing or Shokan if you're a fan, I was full of confidence and ready to take on the world, hell I even ran up my stairs pre-fight then about 10 seconds later my ego came crashing down at the same time as Barakas carcass as Kintaro just whipped my tarkatan ass, naturally I blamed the character and not me so I changed to the classic Sub-Zero and Zero is fitting as that's the damage I did to Kintaro so I chose Reptile, and got the same result just different colour scheme. Join me next week where I will of either beaten Kintaro or be sulking in the corner.

Banjo-Kazooie

Not played Banjo-Kazooie in about 15 years but bought it this weekend for £12, I love my N64. Last time I played it I quit after being scared by a metal shark in the water, the eel off of Mario 64s Jolly Roger Bay got me afraid of water levels. I also deleted my mates profile by accident and he was near the end, you can have three profiles on the game you see.

The story is that a witch named Gruntilda steals Banjos sister Tooty because according to a cauldron she is more beautiful, it's basically Sleeping Beauty (or was it Snow White?) and now Banjo (a bear) and his bird Kazooie have to go save her. The more I played it the more I realised I was pretty much playing Mario 64 but with as a bear, even the noises are alike as my mum said that sounds like Mario!!

Banjo you find jigsaw pieces, a mole gives you the first one for free and helps you throughout the game by learning you new moves, and then you had to the Witchs base kind of like the castle is in Mario 64  in that it links the levels. You find jigsaw pieces throught the various levels that open up newer levels, akin to the stars in Mario, there are 10 Jigsaw pieces on each level, also jigsaws in Banjo and Paintings in Mario.

The game play is much the same as Mario aswell as are the level designs, cant remember the camera being as annoying on Mario though as when I reached the level mentioned in the intro with the shark you have to swim under him then free him but I could barely do it as camera was awful. A good thing though is that there's no order in which the levels have to be done, I think if you get enough jigsaws etc. from certain levels you may even be able to ignore a level or two on the way to the end.

My comparisons to Mario may sound like cheap shots like how TNA is classed as a second rate WWE, but they aren't pot shots as if you want to copy a game then may as well copy a classic like Mario 64, but there are more things to do on the levels than there was on Marios which were 7 Stars only and yet on Banjo there's 10 Jiggys to find, 5 Jinjos (little dragons), 2 Honeycombs which when you find 6 boost up your health meter and there's skulls to find which can you trade in for the ability to transform on certain levels.

Zelda

I remember where I was when I first laid my hands on Ocarina Of Time, my Nan had to leave her house due to work being done and was staying in a flat and it was Christmas Day. Ever since then I've always said i'm a Zelda fan but really I meant I was an Ocarina Of Time fan as that's the only game I'd played, I did read about Majoras Mask in 2000 but never played it, more on that in a moment.

In 2007 I purchased a DS simply to play Phantom Hourglass but didn't get very far as bar Pokemon I've never really felt comfortable on a DS. When I heard about Twilight Princess I made plans to buy a Wii but as with most things I didn't get around to it until last year. Again as with Hourglass I haven't got around to finishing it yet but I have enjoyed it, the Wii controls does make it fun to play and Midna isn't as annoying as Navi, which admittedly isn't saying much. I had always wanted to broaden my horizons though with Majoras Mask and Skyward Sword both of which I'd never played or seen on sale, Majoras I can understand Skyward I can not.

Brings me to 6 days ago, 18th July 2014, I bought a N64 last year off of Facebook as I'd lost mine over the years, how you lose a big ass bulky thing like an N64 I don't know but I did, and on that fateful day of July 18th I randomly asked a local shop on Facebook that sells retro games if they ever got Majoras Mask in and blow me they had one delivered that very day, stars aligned and all that, so I ran and picked it up along with Expansion Pack needed and heard that Argos had Skyward Sword for £10, this was one of those days where I kind of believe in fate. After 14 years I finally got to play Majoras Mask!

Not done much on Majoras Mask as i've been busy but man the moon freaks me out, my sister ran out straight away when Majoras Mask spins at the screen. I am enjoying it so far though I did get annoyed as I made it down to the swamp then played the song to save the game and go back to the first day with out realizing that I'd go back to Clock Town. Started Skyward Sword as well this week and man it is a beautiful game graphic wise, and that's compared with all games not just previous Zelda titles. When I've played them in depth, whioch should be soon, I shall type a proper review of them and the shop also has a Super Nintendo in so I'll buy that and hope the Super Nintendo Zelda comes in.
