The Force Awakens

Went to a midnight showing, this is not a typical review of chonological events but snippets of the main talking points.

- Kylo Ren is not Luke Skywalker as some guessed at but he is his nephew.

- Han Solo, the greatest movie character of all time, is a reverse Marvin Gaye, a scene I shall never get over, like killing the Fonz off.

- The Force is with Rey not Finn.

- Reminded me a bit of IV, BB-8 carries part of a map revealing Lukes whereabouts in the way that R2-D2 had Leia's message. the assault at the end is reminiscent of the assault on the Death Star and Han's death could be likened to Obi-Wan's.

- Of the original triumvirate Han powers the film forward, Leia isn't in it as much, she's a General not a Princess now and Luke has two scenes - the one from the trailer with his hand on R2-D2 and the very last scene where Rey has found him, where Yoda took solace in a swamp Luke is atop a hill, seems to be going in the direction of Luke/Rey being Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan.

- Luke it's revealed was training Kylo but he went to the Dark Side, Vader is his uncle after all, this bothered Luke that he'd failed his nephew so fled, that was what I gleamed from it.

- Captain Phasma is woefully under developed, so much so it makes me question how she came to ghet a Funko Pop!

- Finn's change of heart is right at the start as he saves Poe from The First Order but they crash on Jakku and I genuinely thought Poe died alas I was wrong.

- BB-8 rules.

The Flash

- Don't have Sky so haven't seen Flash but I do like Comics so have broken into my Comic Con savings and got the DVD.

 - Watched the pilot this morning, fittingly called Pilot, and it was good but nothing extraordinary, the lead doesn't feel like a leading guy which hampers it a bit. The origin of his powers is shown but not used as the story which powers the pilot as it had been shown in Arrow. We got the Smallville style Freak Of The Week, and may got more as the whole city seems to opf been affected by the storm. It was okay as stated but I'm not too excited going into episode 2.

Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

Not watched this in a while but I have long disliked, probably why i've not watched it again but I'm on a Star Wars thang at the mo and after Episode I (http://nonwrestling.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/episode-i-phantom-menace.html) a few days ago I watched the follow-up this morning.

The buffer of the original trilogy was the best there but the same can't be said for this one though I did enjoy it more than I remembered doing so as I have always placed this at the bottom of the Star Wars totem pole by some distance but upon today's viewing that's not totally fair as I did enjoy parts of it whereas I remembered disliking all of it.

Although Jedi are essentially peacekeepers it's hard to disagree with Anakin's decision to wipeout the tusken raiders who had tortured his mother, another sign of what he'd become. A classic character is introduced, albeit as a child, as we meet Boba Fett, his father/cloner(?) Jango Fett appears and is revealed as the original that the Clones are based on, but he is killed before the end credits and his helmet is shown in the hands of Boba.

The films for me are dined by there fights, especially the prequels, but I always thought II's were poor and it's not that the Obi-Wan/Anakin/Yoda Vs. Dooku fight is poor it's more that it's not really a true fight, though  Anakin does lose his arm as Luke does in the middle film. I do love big brawls and here is no different as I liked the part where the Jedis fight Droids as Anakin, Obi-Wan and Padme are to be executed on Geonosis, this is where Jango is killed as Mace Windu decapitates him, special mention for Windus awesome Purple Lightsaber.

The acting and writing at times left a lot to be desired and one bit I didn't care for was when Anakin and Padme are bonding on Naboo, it was as if someone had put Pride & Prejudice or some other mundane love story, into my Xbox and a scene set in the droid factory with Anakin, Padme, C3PO and R2-D2 knocked the films momentum off a bit.

Jar-Jar is placed in Padme's place at the senate and gives powers to Chancellor Palpatine to create an army to fight the separatists, I think of it as like the US Civil War where South Carolina and the rest succeeded, the powers that Palpatine is given leads to Order 66 in Episode III which leads to Jedis
being almost wiped out so Jar-Jar is responsible in a way for the Jedi wipeout, was that done due to the sizable hate for Jar-Jar?

Watched out of context it's not as good but watching it as a piece of the Star Wars puzzle I feel it is perfectly acceptable for what it is which is the buffer between the start and end, due to this I think it's fair that nothing becomes settled and rather the pieces are put in place for Episode III, like a good mid-season finale.

Episode I: The Phantom Menace

I now have all the Star Wars on DVD my search for them singularly proved futile however I found a Darth Vader and Yoda 3pk, Vader's being £7 from ASDA and Yodas being £15 from Tesco. I have decided to watch them in order because well it would be stupid not to and last night saw Episode I: The Phantom Menace for the first time in years, maybe even since I caught in 99 at my then local cinema.

This is considered one of the weaker films in the, uhh, what's the trilogy word for a 6 film collection? if not the outright weakest now that may be a fair assessment but I don't think the movie itself is as bad as the general consensus seems, it still may be the weakest of the VI but just because II-VI may be better it doesn't make this one bad just not as good, though personally I've always placed II bottom of the pack.

This entry is the least focused on the Jedi/Sith rivalry for sure and does have an political debate feel with some of the content, throughout there's a thing about Trade Routes being blocked throughout the galaxy and Qui-Gon (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) soon protect Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman) as she is going to be strong armed into a treaty that here rivals want signed.

Anakin (Jake Lloyd) is shown to be a competent PodRacer and later in the film is in space with a Naboo Fighter Plane, I think, which is a precursor to his flying as Vader in IV, in fact there was a few things that seemed to point to Anakin having a bad future, Yoda picked up on his fear saying it will become anger and it's fair to say Vader wasn't the most passive of people, I did like the foreshadowing of what Anakin becomes, weird watching Anakin in a room with Mace Windu knowing that Anakin causes his death in III.

The one big black mark against these prequels, I say black mark it's more like the size of a black hole, is Jar Jar Binks whose comic relief doesn't fit in with the Star Wars theme, I don't hate the character like many do but I wouldn't miss him if he was gone from the film or at least his comic antics, like when kids are telling Anakin he won't win which is a downer for the kid then seconds later Jar Jar's hand is stuck in the podracer. In 99 I did get a Qui-Gon Jinn money bank or something but I don't remember favouring Qui-Gon in the Star Wars world in fact I only really remember his death but upon my viewing last night I must say that I did like the guy which was a surprise as I thought i'd be nonplussed.

The main bad guy is really Darth Sidious who along with his good persona if you will of Palpatine is featured in this film but the bad guy who does the fighting isn't in the film much at all, must've been around seven minutes screen time, though due to his look Darth Maul is memorable, though not acknowledged here or in II-VI Darth does survive the chop, ha-ha.

The climatic fight was okay and Palpatine getting power in the senate is important to the story also Anakin's mum remains a slave and that plays a part in his turn to the Dark Side albeit not here. The film was better than I remembered, does it reach TESB level? No but it isn't bad in its own right, also I've always assumed Phantom Menace was Darth Maul but it's just hit me it may be The Sith as a whole who are long thought extinct..

- Whilst trying to put all my wrestling reviews together I came across as list of my fave songs that I compiled in I believe either 2009 or 2010, I knew it doesn't predate 2009 as Man In The Mirror is on here and I didn't hear that until Michael Jacksons passing in mid 2009. I was shocked at the list mainly as it contains a handful of songs I now hate, after I did the list I got into Prince which opened my eyes to music and some Motowny stuff caught my ears, I have done a new list of my favourite songs at the moment but for now here's the old list.

Inside Out

In a writing mood but couldn't think of anything but remembered I recently saw Inside Out so quick thoughts on the latest Pixar film.

Based on what I'd seen prior to me attending the cinema Anger was my favourite going in, also I'd taken my sister to Liverpool the week before and saw a load of Fear Pops so figured he wasn't very good as seemed unpopular, and after watching the film Anger was indeed my favourite in it however I was surprised to find that Fear was my second favourite of the 5 emotions, in order it went Anger-Fear-Joy-Disgust-Sadness, the Top 2 were easy picks and Joy-Disgust were pretty much interchangeable but based on the fact that Disgust is in the movie the least I put Joy ahead of her and Sadness is a real downer and I didn't warm to her even though she fit her name well.

I must say I Loved the premise of the film, how many films are truly original these days? It did get me thinking how good it would be if these were real and in our minds there really was little people sorting out our memories, like the other day I was trying to remember a song then a couple of days later when I'd forgot about it it came into my head suddenly and imagine if that was due to little guys in our heads sorting through archived memories.

We meet Riley's imaginary friend who's just going about his day in the long term memory area of the brain, unfortunately Bing Bong fades away and is forgotten by Riley at the end, whilst he did this to help Joy not be forgotten for good it was still sad.

One scene I did like inparticular was the trailer that I saw during the Minions film and in that the mother is talking to dadf but in his mind Soccer is playing, I can relate to that though it's usually Basketball or American Football which is funny as the Soccer/Football game is shown for UK audiences, I believe Hokey is shown in US cut.

Highly enjoyable and looks beautiful, no I'm not talking about Inside Out and I mean myself, nah only joking. Go see it now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I asked my 9 year old sister if she wanted to practice reviewing so here's her first ever one -

                                                INSIDE OUT REVIEW
I went to inside out at the cinema in rhyl
and i thought it was really good
and my favourite characters in order are
Anger
Disgust
Sadness
Fear
Joy
when riley was born the 1st to the 5th character that came in
1st Joy
2nd Sadness
3rd Disgust
4th Fear
5th Anger
i didn't like joy because she always tries to look on the
bright side and saying things like "hey it's alright"
and "group hug you to anger" it's really annoying
to me.
I love anger he's a LOL i really love him
the best thing about him is his little
news paper with his little headlines from what
the parents said.
We met bing-bong in the long term memory
and he was going through the islands
and they keep falling apart
and friendship island falls apart because
Anger tries to be Joy and everything goes wrong
and Riley and her friend fall out.
Goofball island falls apart when the dad pretends to be a
monkey and there is no reply.
hockey island goes when she fails the hockey trial because Joy
and Sadness weren't there.
she left home on the bus and went back because she had a change of heart
because sadness and joy weren't there

All-Time NBA Bracket Seeds

- Inspired by the Shaq/Pippen 'beef' of a few weeks ago I started a All-Time NBA bracket where I see who I think is the best ever starting 5, players are from an All-Time roster and not a starting 5 from a certain period also no dupes so Shaq may not even make my Lakers team depending on where I place Wilt and Kareem. The seeds were based on Title Wins and after wasting around 20 pieces of paper I worked out how to fit 30 Teams into a bracket hence the Top Teams get byes to around the 2nd round I believe.
Here's the seeding -

 1. Boston Celtics
 2. Minneapolis/LA Lakers
 3. Chicago Bulls
 4. San Antonio Spurs
 5. Philadelphia/San Francisco/Golden State Warriors
 6. Detroit Pistons
 7. Indiana Pacers
 8. Miami Heat
 9. Syracuse Nationals/Philadelphia 76ers
10. New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets
11. Houston Rockets
12. New York Knicks
13. Tri-Cities Blackhawks/Milwaukee/St. Louis/Atlanta Hawks
14. Dallas Mavericks
15. Milwaukee Bucks
16. Seattle Supersonics/Oklahoma City Thunder
17. Portland Trail-Blazers
18. Rochester/Cincinnati Royals/Kansas-Omaha Kings/Kansas/Sacramento Kings
19. Chicago Packers/Chicago Zephyrs/Baltimore Bullets/Capital/Washington/Washington Wizards
20. Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets
21. Cleveland Cavaliers
22. Denver Nuggets
23. Buffalo Braves/San Diego Clippers/ LA Clippers
24. Memphis Grizzlies
25. Minnesota Timberwolves
26. New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans
27. Orlando Magic
28. Phoenix Suns
29. Toronto Raptors
30. Utah Jazz

Top 8 seeds don't appear until 2nd round as it starts with the bottom 12 facing each other 19 Vs. 30, 20 Vs. 29 etc. then the winners advance to Round 1 where 9-18 appear then the big dogs show up until 1 winner emerges and I am a DET fan but will but aside biases as I think that is integral in these things.

The Walking Dead

TWD had entered my orbit in terms of the name but if someone asked me to name a character from said show I'd be dumbstruck, recently however Season 1 was £5 so after asking on Facebook I decided to have a punt and buy it.

I've finished Season 1 now and last night finished Episode 5 Season 2 and have decided to recap/review each episode from now on a la my Arrow blog post (http://nonwrestling.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/arrow-season-2.html)

Season 1 was good on the whole though I did kind of go uhhh when the CDC came about as I felt it kind of knocked the show of its momentum slightly and I didn't much care for that or Dr. Jenner.
In terms of characters I did like Shane, Daryl and although the character is unlikeable Merle, played by Yondu man how can I not dig that!

As the season drew to a close, it was six episodes, they simply forgot about looking for Merle whether it was meant to be taken as they thought he was dead, I doubt Daryl would give up though or the writers just leaving it I'm unsure. A good part was when the camp was attacked as it was unexpected and thinned the herd though bar Amy and to an extent Jim none of the other characters were that memorable.

 SEASON 2
Just past the halfway mark. I have enjoyed it so far even though it has been rather slow though I do think an adrenaline pumping zombie slaughter every episode would be rather tiring. Shane has been the highlight for me so far, though I did shake my head when he sacrificed Otis. Carl got shot, though I sympathized more with the deer me being an animal man and all but he's A-Ok now as he was tended to on a farm owned by Hershel Greene and his family, I do think Hershel has been played very well so far by Scott Wilson.

Sophia, Carol's daughter, went missing after running from Walkers in the opener and this carried/dragged down depending on your POV the first half of season 2 though the ending to the arc was beautiful and harrowing at the same time. Turns out old Hershel has Walkers in the barn, some his family some found on the land, he believes they can be cured.

Hershels plan to store them and hopefully save them was put to bed by Shane who upon hearing of the zombies, only Glenn initially knew, and witnessing Rick and Hershel take some to the barn decided enough was enough and Shane, Daryl, T-Dog (uh any need for a gangsta name in a post-apocalyptic world?), Andrea and a reluctant Glenn gunned down the Walkers after Shane released them from the barn but then blow me after they were all killed and all seemed well in the world/farm Sophia comes out as a walker and Rick puts her down. I thought the reaction of Hershel was well done as he stares in disbelief at what's unfolding.

In 'Nebraska', episode name not the actual state, Hershel is getting drunk as Glen and Rick come to get him when two unknown survivors come in, I hated them, which may of been the point I don't know, but I was happy when Rick shot them down both figuratively and literally. Forgot to mention, due to its stupidity, Lori was in a car accident.

Just watched the next episode 'Trigger Finger' the friends of the people Rick killed showed up, Hershel shot one who survived that but was set upon by Walkers, who've taken a back seat pretty much this season. Lori's car flipped last ep and this picked up with her fighting off a couple Walkers, the one pushing his face through the broken window was a terrific visual, she seems A-Okay though and is eventually back at camp via Shane, she didn't even seem to have a scratch on her the whole thing seems to of existed just to have Shane lie to her about Rick being safe. The recent episodes have done a lot to knock Dale down in my estimation he's gone from one of the best characters to being Shane's number one badmouther, I think he'd even tell a Walker if he came across one how bad Shane is. Last scene was good though as Lori pretty much told Rick Shane had to die for the good of the camp, will Lori ever have anything positive to say?

Rick Vs. Shane finally happened w/ Rick throwing punches and Shane throwing wrenches then it was made a handicap match as Walers were awoken from an afternoon nap. Shane was trapped in a bus with Walkers trying to get in when Rick left with Randall, a guy who's lost his leg when it was impaled on a fence and now they're dumping him a way from the farm but he knows Maggie, however Rick returned to get Shane, who almost went all Dukes Of Hazard when re-entering the car. Back at home Lori apparently lives in the 50s thinking women should just do chores.

Now finished Season 2, since my last post Dale died, ripped open by a Walker then shot by Daryl in a mercy killing and then Randall was killed by Shane who used the search for Randall as a ploy to kill Rick but Rick stabbed Shane instead then Carl, who I find annoying through I dislike kids anyway, shot Walker Shane and the gunshot led a load of Walkers, and I mean a load, to the farm cue operation shoot and run like hell, Hershel lost Patricia, Otis' wife, and Jimmy, his or Otis son I assume, in the fracas but the core survived. Andrea got lost from the group and was seemingly about to meet her maker when a mysterious hooded figure saved her, this is Michonne that's not revealed but I know it is also Rick has gone all Ricktator, ha-ha, on the group and gone like Shane in a sense and told the people what Jenner told him which is that everyone is infected which is why any death leads to Walker state. The season ended with a shot of a Prison in the distance.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SEASON 3
In the premiere we find that a few months have passed since Season 2, yet they only just find the prison which was a stones throw away in Season 2s final scene, not a complaint just an observation. Liked them picking off the Prison Yard Walkers from the towers and also at the end more survivors were revealed indoors, they'd been locked in the cafeteria for 10 months or something and we get another stupid name - Big Tiny. Hershel gets his lower leg amputated after he is bitten/grabbed I forget which.

Well it seems Rick is becoming a bit more Shaneified, funny as that's what he preached against for so long, as he makes the tougher choices by gut now seemingly instead of waiting as he kills one of the Prisoners and another one he willingly locked out in the Walkers though I must say I do like this Rick as it's better than 'oh lets sleep on it' as I do think you would make the choices he makes now in this world as it is dog-eat-dog essentially, well  Walker-eat-human but you know what I mean. Carol practises a cesarian on a Walker for when Lori has her kid which was a touch I appreciate, Hershel's not dead but he is now legless like he was last season but in a different way.

Last episode 'Walk With Me' had nothing of the Prison Living Survivors as we focused on Andrea and Michonne, they were found by The Governor and Merle, with a knife arm now due to the Rick enforced amputation. Governor it turns out runs Woodbury a safe haven though it did come across as too good to be true and had an air of uneasiness to me. Governor was all smiles and a real nice guy to boot but then he goes and kills a bunch of soldiers as he wants their supplies and lies to his town people that they were killed by Walkers when they got there. funny though as a Governor would be better suited to a Prison and Rick could do with Woodbury, how long till the two camps meet?

Possibly my fave episode yet as I watched 'Killer Within' where it all goes Pete Tong as Walkers get in the prison grounds and the camp is splintered this leads to T-Dog getting bit then running around with Carol and letting himself get eaten so she can live, I thought something was amiss when T-Dog had actual lines at the start of the ep, Carol's not returned yet and is assumed dead by the group so either she is dead offscreen or she's a hide and seek master. Lori gave birth via a Maggie done C-Section then Carl shot her, off screen making it more chilling in a way especially the way he went past Maggie on his way out. Ricks breakdown at the end I'm guessing is like marmite within the fans community.  The next episode Rick doesn't say anything until the very end when he says 'hello' when answering a phone in the prison, bet it's a double glazing salesman. Back in Woodbury though is where more stuff happened as Michonne has left without Andrea who stays then may now realise Michonne was right about something being off as she sees Merle fight random guy in the middle of toothless Zombies which in Woodbury is entertainment, better than what we get in Rhyl. Daryl and Maggie got supplies as well for the new baby girl, also noticed that Oscar gets a credit in the end credits but Axel doesn't so either he's a main character guy credit wise or they've forgotten him.

Big developments as the two camps find out about each other, Merle was chasing Michonne through the area around Woodbury when they stumbled upon Glenn and Maggie on a supply run. Glenn and Maggie or Gleggie are now prisoners of The Governor and  Michonne made her way to the prison after she over heard Glenn and Maggie or Magenn talking. After some work from Governor and Merle on the pair Maggie revealed where they were staying and Michonne told the prison camp about Woodbury though I was waiting for her to drop in Merle's name or even a description of him but she didn't which was frustrating. Ended with Rick Daryl, Oscar and Michonne outside Woodbury unbeknownst to the guards .... oh them phone calls in the prison were in Ricks head.

Forgot I was doing this, I finished Season 3 a few days ago, it takes me ages to watch something as evidenced by the gap in the last post to me finishing the Season. Governor went from creep villain to psychopath villain in about 2 seconds as he slaughtered his own people who ran after a failed assassination of Ricks prison crew. Merle got killed by Governor then sadly Zombie Merle had to be offed by Daryl, Andrea, the most annoyingly inconsistent character of the Season was killed off, woo-hoo.

My FIFA Rules

- Drop the smaller teams from qualification for big tournaments - San Marino, Lichtenstein, Scotland et al have no chance of getting anywhere near World Cup, Euros etc. and it'd be a mercy killing stopping them trying.

-  Give teams team names like in US Sports. I love US Sports and think that giving the teams names will improve the sport - Liverpool Losers, Arsenal Weasels, Salford Suckers etc.

- Ban Lineker from commenting on any football news related story as he just annoys me.

- No draws. Any game that ends in a draw goes to golden goal or penalties and I mean domestic football.

- Make the goals bigger to try and stop dull 0-0s. (or implement the above rule)

- Give the teams a half court violation where they can't spend more than X amount of time in their own half and when in the opposition's half they can't go back over the line.

- Drop the League Cup in UK or make it the Johnston-Paint trophy and let it be between Football League teams.

- Make UK/Man Utd fans realise that football did exist pre-1992.

- Either put Celtic in English Leagues, if Swansea, Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport can then why not Celtic, or just end Scottish Football.

- Just drop Qatar World Cup due to health problems with the heat.

WWF Attitude

- Fired up the WWF Attitude game for my N64 last night and thought I'd blog my career mode progress instead of doing a PPV review as i'm virtually retired from them now though Breakdown may be done if I can be bothered at the weekend.

- Career mode is simple to follow if rather long, you start on House Shows then after some wins get on HeAt and Shogun Saturday then lastly RAW is WAR and the end of month PPVs. It's split into three tiers - European Title, IC Title and the WWF Title. You start at the bottom of the pile as it's done like the old WCW Top 10 rankings though it has 20 in Euro then 15 in IC and you face the man ahead of you in a match and progress that way though they do throw in tag, triangle or even handicap matches in on occasion and a loss sends you back a spot.

- I've picked Undertaker as I know his move set or at least some good moves which brings me to a confession on fighting games ie MK I hate button mashers and on wrestling games I hate people who do the same move all the time, well i've become one here as all my matches so far follow a pattern of - One Handed Chokeslam -Punch x10 - One Handed Chokeslam - Chokeslam - Tombstone 1,2,3.
I have yet to lose by pinfall, that's not really a brag as my opponents have be on the Mosh, Kurrgan level but I did lose a handicap match via countout to the great thrown together team of Thrasher and Dr. Death (RIP), I did team w/ Taka Michinoku though and in an effort to strengthen Death Valley/Japan relations I let Taka pin Jerry Lawler, European Title here I come.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Actually managed to finish the game in one sitting as my matches 90% of the time lasted about 2 minutes and I had to beat Mankind for the WWF Title and after all these matches all I got was a pic of Undertaker and something saying like Congratulations on being Champion and that was it, uh.

Age Of Ultron

- Bored last night so went cinema, cost £8.79, why the 79p, round it up people!

- This isn't a review of the whole film like my X-Men: DOFP or CA:WS but rather my thoughts in general, there will be spoilers.

- Ultron was a good villain for me to watch, he isn't treated as almost a joke like Loki but rather a true villain and I was really impressed with the way he came across.

- The look of the film was beautiful and very impressive.

- Hawkeye got a meaty role in the film and for me Jeremy Renner is possible the MVP of this film, he was shown to have a wife and two kids with another on the way and the way he was built up through the film I expected him to get offed but blow me Quicksilver bites the bullet, or multiple bullets should I say.

- Nice touch where Hawkeyes new born is shown to have the middle name Pietro as Quicksilver died saving Hawkeye.

- Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver don't leave much of an impression though SW does cause show each Avenger visions where Stark seemingly destroys everything, Cap is alone and Thor's felt weird within this film actually Thor doesn't fit at all for me within the MCU.

- Film ends with a new Avengers formed - Captain America, Black Widow, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Vision, The Falcon.

- Though kind of obvious the bad guys go good and have a heroic death, at least one of them anyway, felt cliched in about 1957.

- The Vision was a welcome addition and the fact he's given a humanish appearance helps the audience connect with him I think.

- The start was enjoyable as we go straight into the thick of the action.

- Black Widow and Hulk start a romance out of nowhere but at the end Hulk seemingly goes off the radar and personally not sorry to see that as I don't like Hulk though i'm sure he'll be back.

- Mid Credit scene shows Thanos grabbing the Gauntlet and saying he'll have to do it himself more or less, i've forgotten his exact words.

- Who will pay for all the buildings destroyed??

7.5 / 10 - I didn't have that feeling of satisfaction when leaving the cinema that I got from Winter Soldier or Guardians.

Majoras Mask

- When people ask my fave game the answer of 'Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time' is always followed with the question did you play Majoras Mask? To which I would sigh and say no. This went on for 14 years until last year when I contacted a local retro shop and they had Majoras Mask in on that day so I got it, though due to TV issues I've only really had a good go of it in the last week or so.

- This is being played on my 64 I don't have 3DS version.

- The game play was easy for me to pick up as it's 100% Ocarina Of Time so that was a plus for me and as the people in Termina are the same as Hyrule it's fun for me and the sister to try remember where they were in Hyrule eg a man in the ranch appears in Kakariko Village and the Lost Woods on Ocarina also the these two witches you help in the Swamp are a dungeon boss on Ocarina (Spirit Temple if I remember right).

- One major difference between OoT and MM is that Majoras is timed in that you have 3 days (in game time) to save Termina from the moon, to save the game you must play The Song Of Time and go back to day 1 though everything resets. The timed nature of the game initially annoyed me but i've grown to bear it, on OoT you had to get Medallions but here it's masks, though I don't think all 24 are needed I'm still going to try for them, they enable you to do different things though only 3 truly change you - Deku, Goron and Zora, but some are needed for progression as you can't get into Ikana without winning the mask needed via horse race.

- The first Temple/Dungeon/whatever floats your boat is fairly easy which was a given given it's the initial one but the second (Snowhead Temple) was annoying in terms of traversing it but I found the boss (Goht) annoying but also quite fun to do and I've saved Zora Eggs which enabled me to learn a new song which I think grants me access to the next temple but I'm not doing that yet as I get flashbacks to the Water Temple of OoT, also I don't intend to do the Zora Eggs again as I hate water fights and had to beat these deep sea pythons to save three of the eggs also the  other four are around Gerudo Fortress which I walked around with the Stone Mask which makes you essentially invisible however I wouldn't like to do that are without the mask.

- Away from the main story of the Temples as noted earlier you get masks all via different means and the biggest one I've found to do is this Anju/Kafei task from which I have three masks (Kafei/Keaton/Couples) and yet still Anju is not ticked off in my note book, what does the woman want?!

- Overall I've enjoyed it so far but i'm still not sure whether I prefer it to Ocarina BUT the fact that I can't declare OoT a definite winner is a testament to Majoras Mask, the 14 year wait was worth it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Got a couple more masks last night but I have the feeling that I should progress more within the game so onto the next temple.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- I am NEVER doing the Great Bay Temple again not even for £1,000,000. I've always thought Water Temple from OoT was worst Zelda dungeon but this surpasses it, in Water Temple you have to lower and raise the Water levels but the boss is relatively easy and in Great Bay Temple you change the current of the water which was annoying as I couldn't find the last one however after all this I faced what is my worst ever boss - Gyorg, a fish thing that does major damage, I needed to use two red fairies to survive, though being an animal lover I did feel bad for killing a fish, I am never doing this again!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Took a break for a bit as I usually do, I start things then half way through get bored hence why I have a bunch of reviews written but not typed up, but I was in the mood for this and so headed for the Stone Tower, oh wait no I didn't I had to go through the well giving gibdo's various items and ended with Mirror Shield, I learnt the Song Of Storms somewhere aswell, I honestly can't remember where though, after bringing water back to the valley I healed a father and got the Gibdo mask then I headed for Stone Tower.

- Did the first part of the tower after spending about two hours getting up to it, then you have to go outside and flip the tower by hitting a switch with the light arrows which are earned by beating a mini-boss, it may of been a Wizzrobe i can't remember. There's a really annoying enemy named Death Amos or something like that which stopped me hitting a switch for a while then when I did it I realised I should of just used the stone mask, after going back to the opening area by accident and thus having to walk around again I got to the boss, special mention for the guy guarding the boss key as he did some real damage, the boss was two worm like things named TwinMold who you beat by hitting the head or tail of both, I gained the Giants Mask in the temple and this is the only place you can wear it.

- The four temples are done and now I'm heading for the clock tower, or at least I would be but I have three masks missing.

- All Night Mask is now mine just missing one as I believe the other is obtained by getting all the others. Oh Mask Where (and what) Are Thou?!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Turns out the mask I needed was one I knew from OoT as it was The Mask Of Truth, read online, yes I broke my cardinal rule, and it said get all the golden spiders in the house, I thought paaaaarp liars I did that and didn't get a mask then realised there is two such houses on the game, got it now.

- To paraphrase The Police I am walking in the moon. Had to find four kids after they asked for my masks, at least they were polite robbers, found the Goron one really annoying as I fell off the track a lot. Then onto Majoras Mask itself. Now this is where the importance of the masks becomes apparent. I had all masks to give away leaving me with none and then the kid wearing Majoras Mask gave me The Fierce Deity mask, which really helps, without all masks I couldn't of given enough away to the kids and thus no mask for the boss.

- Fierce Deity mask meant I could damage Majoras Mask as I pleased and breezed through the final bosses 3 stages even the mother said 'was that it after all the other hard bosses' I doubt I would've beat it in one go without that mask but it did make the final boss to easy, we get a little cut scene, not as good as OoT's to end the game .... well actually I thought it would of deleted my profile thus making me start again but it just went back to Day 1 and I had all 24 masks. Some of the space in my item list are empty  so i've missed something also I couldn't do a certain fight by Ikana Canyon as it said I didn't have enough health, first though Ima whip the bosses with my newest mask and get the frog chorus reunited.

Arrow Season 2

- This is being written as I watch Season 2 so will be my initial thoughts on what's happened instead of trying to remember things after watching the whole season, so far i'm 4 episodes in.

- Not much time, about 5 minutes, was dedicated to getting Oliver back off the island after he willingly returned, that was a slight let down.

- It seems to me that Shado may end up coming between Slade and Ollie, also re Slade we see him going down screaming after catching aflame during a bombing of the plane and am I too assume this is where he loses his eye?

- The Doll Maker came across as a creepy villain and for me was better than the run of the mill villains of the week from last season and I also like the 180 by the Lance's in terms of for/against 'The Hood', though Paul Blackthorne seems more comfortable in his role.

- Black Canary's reveal as Sara wasn't much of a surprise though the mention of Ra's Al Ghul certainly was an intriguing one as was the reveal that Ollie knew Sara survived.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Caught the next two episodes last night 'League Of Assassins' and 'Keep Your Enemies Closer' both of which were yet more strong entries in a stellar season 2. I have enjoyed Sara (Caity Lotz) in her Starling City debut so far.

- Keep Your Enemies Close had Amanda Waller in and this and the way she spoke to Diggle about getting by Lyla smells to me like Suicide Squad. I really liked this episode as Diggle was pushed as the front man as he went into a Russian prison to save Lyla who had gone in as she was searching for Deadshot for Diggle and found him within, we didn't know he was in there until Diggle did as they were chained up in a freezer style place with each other and Diggle was forced to work with his enemy, Deadshot killed his brother, to get out back to Oliver, it was outside where Diggle found out that Deadshot meant to kill his brother, he always assumed Andy Diggle was protecting a client but Deadshot reveals H.I.V.E ordered the hit, H.I.V.E have links to Deathstroke so this may bring him into Starling City. Speaking of Slade we saw him and Shado again with Slade now burnt and Shado helping him recover.

- Professor Ivo, here a Doctor, has also shown up in the flashbacks as Oliver is a prisoner on his ship and Sara is there as his assistant of sorts and Dylan Neal brings an unnerving presence to the role also he's looking for a Super Soldier Serum and I'm guessing that these deformed corpses that Oliver, Slade and Shado found are the failed experiments.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Malcolm's back and revealed that Thea is his daughter but instead of retreading season 1 and having Moira hold back a secret from Queens due to Malcolm she one upped him as she has got word to Ra's al Ghul, do they have a signal in Nanda Parbat? and for Malcolm's sake I hope Ra's doesn't find him.

- Barry Allen debuted and I haven't seen Flash yet but based on his appearance here I do wonder if he has leading man capabilities as he was good but didn't stand out on his own, also why on shows do the two 'geeks' always catch each others eye? Do writers not know that we can find love with non-geeks?

- In the flashbacks Slade is on his last legs following the explosion but was injected with the serum stuff but without a sedative and seemingly died aboard the sub that contains the serums however I'm pretty sure he's not dead and think that this will lead to Deathstroke from the comics.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Only caught one episode but it was a doozy 'Three Ghosts' was the episode and during the TV run this was the mid-season finale and we found out that Shado died on the island as Ivo shot her when Oliver went in front of Sara, Ivo told him to pick who got shot and Slade didn't die from the injection/serum and going by what we saw is now the Deathstroke from the comic as he kicked some heavy duty booty, also I think he's the first to survive the injection.

- Shado, Slade and Tommy showed up in present day as ghosts, it was nice seeing Slade and Shado with Arrow and not pre-vigilante Oliver, Slade's ghost beat up Oliver in his hideout/base, though they turned put to be psychological problems for Oliver i'm unsure how that would beat him up.

- The man who injured Ollie in present day, Arrow landed with needles in him and Barry Allen saved him as Felicity revealed Ollie's secret identity, was named Cyrus Gold who in the comics was Solomon Grundy in the 19th century hence Solomon Grundy rhyme being in Arrow.

- Roy got injected with the Serum but was saved by Arrow and I did think that he was about to reveal his true identity to Roy but alas he did not.

- Two big things happened though towards the end as Barry Allen was struck by lightning when weather caused the particle accelerator to explode it seemed and Brother Blood's boss was revealed and this person is the source of the blood needed for the Serum and it's an eye patch wearing Slade Wilson, his burns were healed by the serum but i'm hoping Arrow took out his eye as in an earlier episode Arrow revealed to Diggle that he'd beaten a super human before and I assume it's Slade.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- 'Blast Radius' was a good episode but did feature the poor villain of the week which Season 1 was chock full of, a good episode but not on the levels of the previous episodes.

- Roy is superpowered after being injected with Mirakuru and I hope he somehow loses the super strength as Arrow has been grounded so far in terms of Super powers eg Canary's sonic screaming thing is from a device and not her, now I can accept Slade having these powers but as stated I hope Roy somehow loses them.

Mortal Kombat Ninjas

I am a fan of the Mortal Kombat series and in particular the Ninja brigade or if you prefer the palette swappers so I've decided to rank them now Liu Kang is a ninja I suppose but he isn't a palette swap so shall not find his way on my list.

Honorable Mention - Tremor - Tremor is only available to fight as on one Challenge Tower available on the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat which I don't have therefore I have no opinion on him.

8. Chameleon -
Played as him during my run on MK: Armageddon and basically in the first appearance of his he was akin to the original Reptile in that he had no moves of his own then in Armageddon he would still use other Ninja moves ie Sub Zeros ice charge and he'd change colour based on the character he was emulating, however he could go black without using any of Noobs moves, I just class Chameleon as a make up the numbers guy even though he has the best of the rest in one package I still prefer the originals as they say often duplicated never replicated.

7. Smoke
7th place was a toss up but Smoke gets it based on the fact I hate his appearance in Mortal Kombat (9), his Uppercut (borrowed from Sektor) is really annoying as well. The original Smoke was a hidden fighter, akin to MK I's Reptile and you may remember he'd pop out behind a tree in the Living Forest level. In terms of fighting I just don't do very well, there's a couple of characters I just don't fare well as, although tidbit time Smoke is the only MK character I used to have a figure of.

6. Ermac
The token telekinesis guy. One of the seemingly endless MK myths as his presence in MK I was suspected by fans but the ERMAC on-screen is explained here https://twitter.com/noobde/status/24679866951536640. However an Ermac character did debut in the third instalment and since then I have been okay as him but also find him to be a tough fight at times, his placing here is low but it's not to say I dislike the character it's just that the ones that follow him are just that little bit better for me.

5. Scorpion
Arguably the face of the franchise but for me he sits in the 5th spot. Again I hate fighting him and don't care much for fighting as him as the ones remaining are always picked ahead of him and that's what matters for this list. His Spear move though is iconic in the series if not gaming as a whole. I like to think of this as 5th best rather than the 5th worst.

4. Noob Saibot
Now is where it gets hard as I had originally put Noob 3rd but on seventh thoughts he gets bumped down one. Noob is the dead version of Sub Zero from MK I and has an uncredited appearance in MK: Annihilation as it is he who comes out of Ermac in the final fight. Now we're in the spots where I like fighting as all of these guys and though the #1 spot has been taken 2-4 are hard to pick. As Noob I can kick some heavy duty booty especially working his teleport slam into my combos. He was another secret fight from MK II and tidbit his name is the surnames of the creators Ed Boon and John Tobias backwards.

3. Rain
The marmite of the MK world, as you can probably guess I fall on the love side. I am a Prince fan but that has no bearing here - he is purple after Purple Rain and he is Prince of Edenia. On MK 9 I use his Super Kick to lead into a Geyser Kick to great effect also his x-ray is the only one that can be hit no matter where the opponent is, He's considered a joke due to his origin but within the game he is pretty much a complete richard, in his MK 9 ending he turns on Raiden and takes over the realms after 'drowning Shao Kahn in his own blood' and he has a right 'tude problem,

2. Sub Zero
The granddaddy of the Lin Kuei takes the #2 spot. He's been in every game since it's inception, I believe there's one other and it's not Scorpion so maybe Liu Kang but I don't think it is. When I think MK I think of this guy, I am counting Sub Zero I and Sub Zero II here. He is the owner of arguably the most famous of the Fatalities it being the Spine Rip one from MK I. It's great freezing people as you can start combos without them blocking.

1. Reptile
Reptile slithers into the #1 spot as he's a Reptile get it? Whenever I pick up MK this is the guy or Saurian that I pick. He is also the most changed throughout the series as when he debuted in MK I, as a legendary hidden fighter he was a palette swap ninja then in MK 4 he was .... well I don't know what the hell happened there and by Deadly Alliance he was a lizard and also a bandaged reptile in Shaolin Monks, when I play MK 9 I choose the MK I attire. I fight better as him than anyone else I use which is part of the reason he gets the top spot also the fact that he's changed throughout the game is appealing as it means he is rarely the same as before, stating the obvious there I know.

Disappointing Things

- This is a list of things that have disappointed me, weather they were built up by public hype or just my own expectations. Is this inspired by Mt. Rushmore? Nope never seen it, is it inspired by Aladdin? Nope I enjoyed it, is it inspired by Liverpool's season? Nope don't support a football team. It is in fact inspired by .... the last DVD I bought.

The Wolf Of Wall Street (Film)
This was the last DVD I bought and I'd heard of it which meant it must have been hyped up as it's usually only Comic films that enter my orbit. The film dragged for me and to be honest did get boring, I'm not saying it's a bad film like say Never Surrender, which was truly awful, but it certainly didn't live up to expectations. If I was watching this in the cinema I may of walked out.

Shawn Michaels Vs. Mr. Perfect (SummerSlam 1993 PPV)
First wrestling mention in my Non Wrestling Blog this may cause the Rapture!! This was a self hype as it's Perfect Vs. HBK, though it would transpire in retrospect that Perfect was past his best really when compared to his Bret matches, the match itself was poor and if I remember right it had a naff ending possibly DQ or countout.

Watchmen (Film)
This was all public hype as I had never heard of them, it was a graphic novel for those who don't know, and for me the movie itself was outshone by the opening credits which was very good and introduced me to the Bob Dylan song 'The Times They Are-A Changin', part of me thought that maybe it was a lack of knowledge of the characters that hindered my enjoyment but if anything that is better going into a film as then you have nothing to judge the film version against.

Gotham (TV Show)
The fact that Batman himself wouldn't be in it was a plus for me as bar Lego Batman, who does make me laugh, I don't care for Batman himself, however I do love his villains but this show disappointed me overall. Really don't think that the Fish character fits in well. The general consensus is that Penguin is the best and I agree with that, All in all I don't mind missing an episode of Gotham which isn't a positive sign is it. The best way to get my attention is to give us The Riddler in the comics but I can't see that happening with Gotham's E. Nygma.

Will Smith as Deadshot (Movie Casting)
Disappointing in the 'oh man now I'll still go but i'll be annoyed' as I can't stand Will Smith, as an actor this isn't about Will as a person at all. Will has connections to Gotham here w/ Jada and the Suicide Squad film has links to Wolf Of Wall Street through Margot Robbie, what a world we live in.

Channel 4 Not Renewing WWF Contract
In 2000 Channel 4 broadcast the Royal Rumble PPV, but apparently after the Mae Young 'incident' shall we say, Channel 4 bosses there and then decided not to renew the deal which would end in 2001 so I still got to see Backlash 2000, Royal Rumble 2001, Backlash 2001, InVasion and Vengeance 2001 but I had to miss PPVs after that and at some point Sunday Night HeAt was moved to midnight so I'd have to sneak downstairs to watch it. Incidentally they did broadcast Fully Loaded and Armageddon 2000 but I missed them.

The General Perception Of The Spider-Man Films
Now this is just personal thoughts on the films I'm not saying no-one elses opinion matters it's just for me the Spider-Man series, SM 1 - ASM 2, is looked down on and I don't think that's entirely fair. Spider-Man 3 was poor I agree with that but should the reputation of one film drag down an entire series of films? My main gripe with that film, as I believe is most peoples, is Venom. The modern MCU, Iron Man onwards, is held in high regard and whilst it is great that these characters exist in a shared universe that doesn't hide that fact for me that not all of the films have been great and for me Spider Man 2 beats Iron Mans 1 and 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger hands down, that's not to say they were poor but Spider-Man 2 was better for me, though Iron Man 2 was awful. I enjoyed Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2, though ASM2 ending as it did did annoy me, as well, and I wouldn't say Spider-Man 1 was awful by any means.
